Sandlot America Umpiring History!
"Your Amateur Baseball & Fastpitch Softball Connection"
OUR RICH HISTORY
I have more than 45 years of umpiring experience, including all ages and levels of baseball. I have been a baseball scheduler for over thirty years. The first years were in sunny Florida before moving back to my home in Cincinnati.
Starting out "Grassroots" assignments that included summer select and recreational baseball allowed me to gain a great deal of experience. I later moved on to high school and then college ball. I eventually began working with the Independent Pro Leagues and in a variety of national tournaments all around the country.
The experience that I have received over the years has allowed me to meet many talented umpires and travel around the country.
For more than 30 years, I have enjoyed assigning fellow umpires to games not only locally but around the country. I also coordinate many of the local tournaments and travel out of the area to help in other states. I have served as a UIC (Umpire In Chief) for many organizations both locally and on a national level for the past twenty years.
LOOKING FOR NEW & EXPERIENCED BASEBALL UMPIRES
We are always looking for some good umpires to work with the Sandlot America Umpire Associationthat would like to add games to their existing Summer and Fall assignments including Tournaments both in and out of town throughout the 2012 season.
If you are interested in filling in your Summer & Fall schedule with Select Teams and Tournaments that we schedule we would be very interested in talking with you ASAP. If your Summer & Fall assignor can’t keep you busy enough with games then all you need to do is get in touch with us. We can give you as many games as you can handle. This means in addition to whatever schedule you receive from your current assignor(s).
We use the HorizonWebRef scheduling system. This means that you will need a computer at your disposal at all times to receive games from us.
Just a reminder that we all are Self-Employed Independent Contractors. Remember this when taking assignments from the different assignors you take assignments from for High School and Summer/Fall Baseball. We as Independent Contractors have the right to choose which assignors we want to work for without repercussion. We could take all our games from one assignor or take games from two or three assignors so that we can work as many games as we want in the 2011 season for both High School and Select Baseball. If you want to work 25 games for High School and your current assignor can only give you between 10 or 15 games than you should be able to fill up your schedule from other assignors. This also holds true for Summer/Fall Baseball.
