Sandlot America will include the following:
- Articles: current events, game summaries
- Features: monthly columns
- Upcoming Events: game and special tournament listings
- Advertising: types (ad size) and formats (business card ads, classified, etc.) for media and Web advertising
These areas are further described in the following subsections.
ARTICLES
Sandlot America provides a variety of articles centered around the great game of amateur baseball and fastpitch softball. The publication provides game summaries tracking teams seasons as they unfold. As regular season play turns to tournament time, a wide variety of tournament action will be covered. We will continue to publish results of tournaments in the late summer and begin to focus on the fall leagues. Articles on other aspects of the game, including sports medicine, conditioning and umpiring, will be featured as well.
FEATURES
Sandlot America provides an in-depth look at subjects of interest. Dr. Timothy Kremchek, team physician for the Cincinnati Reds and one of the nation's leading orthopedic surgeons, writes a monthly column discussing sports medicine. Kyle McNeely, a veteran umpire with the National Federation of High Schools and coordinator of baseball umpire development and VP of ABUA Umpire Association shares insights into umpiring and sportsmanship. Teams and players, baseball trivia and myths about the rules of baseball are featured as well. The "Where Are They Now?" column follows high school players who have gone on to play at the college or pro level.
